Looking to apply for communications/journalism

i think you have a chance
is barnard ur first choice? (because if not, you could get into some other really fabulous schools as well i'm sure) =)

Though I'm definitely no "chance" expert, it seems as though you've got a great shot. Just be sure to try to get your SAT's up a bit, but it seems as though your ACT score is pretty good. Great rec's--you sound like a very accomplished person!

It looks like you have a shot. Be sure to organize your ECs to show that you have a focus and a reason for all of them and you didn't just join every possible club. Also note that Barnard doesn't have a communications/journalism program, so if you're dead set in going somewhere with that major, you might want to look somewhere else.

It looks like you have a great chance :) Maybe choose either the SAT or ACT to work on and get your score up by a few points before you apply. Good luck!

To echo what others have said, you do have great chances and congrats on all the hard work that got you to this point. Enjoy your summer at Barnard and use it to really refine your essays about whay you feel it is the perfect school for you and why you would be a great fit for it. As someone indicated above, there is not an undergrad journalism major at Barnard or at Columbia, but Barnard's writing program is second to none, IMO! So again, be sure Barnard has what you want.

The only tiny cautionary thing I see is the fact that you are not taking the highest level English course offered and I "get" that you are doing that for schedule reasons. Just be sure you convey that on your application.

I also (as one of the above posters suggested) STRONGLY suggest that you present your EC's in an organized and focused fashion so there is a reason behind all of that activity, if you get what I mean.

But, again, congrats for putting yourself in a great position for college! No matter what, you will be in a great school.
