Chance me! Primarily interested in UCs (Berkeley)

Extra School Stuff: Orchestra clarinet section leader (four years, what a waste, sort of), swim team, FBLA president, Chinese club, JSA, Invisible Children, some others...

SATI: M 780/ W 610/ CR 640 = 2050 (Going to retake to aim for 2100+)

AP Scores:
World: 4
Calc AB: 4
USH: 3 (boo)
Calc BC: 5 (AB subscore 5)
Chem: 3 (pitiful, I should've studied harder)

Family Background: Chinese, parents both college grads.

I'm not quite sure what exactly I want to study, but I figure it would be in the biomedical area. I'm really interested in UC Berkeley, so please chance me.
Of course, I'm not limiting off my options and am also applying to:
-UCLA
-UCSD
-UC Davis
-Cornell
-Duke
-Stanford
And some other out-of-my-league schools by my mother's request =P

Berkeley/UCLA: match
UCSD: safe match - safety
UCD: safety
Cornell/Duke: good shot
Stanford: good shot if you can raise your SAT score considerably

Strong GPA/rank, presumably good scores, average ECs. That internship should give you a good boost at Stanford (and the others). Try to show a passion/focus for something specific.

Good match for all schools. Just raise your subject scores and you're set.

assuming you live in California, then you probably got into Stanford, but if not, you still have a good chance.

the other schools you got if you can make your ECs look good

Send in a tape of your clarinet playing assuming it really is extraordinary. I would worry about the SAT test itself as opposed to the subject tests. Minimum 2100 I would suggest. Impeccable GPA.

Thank you for your replies. Also, I've been playing the clarinet for a while, but definitely not seriously or well enough to send in a tape. Hahaha...

Very optimistic chances, but I don't think I stand a chance at Stanford. Considering my school isn't exactly top notch, very few students (and only the valedictorians) get into Stanford each year, so I don't know...

Despite Stanford having a largely Californian student body, being from California neither helps nor hurts you.
