Chance me Princeton SCEA? Low income, first gen, URM

Hi, applying Princeton SCEA here. I feel that I have a good chance at getting into Princeton SCEA, but my grades are kinda low tbh. I’m worried even though I’ve been accepted to all expenses paid fly-ins by Harvey Mudd, Caltech, and Columbia so far. Hopefully my class rank improves after first semester senior year. My freshman year was not that great.

Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 19/129

Essays: 9/10. Counselor said they were the best she’s read in the last 10 years. Very well written essay about my transition from a chef to an entrepreneur. Related it to my uncle who has lung cancer.
Teacher Recommendations: 9/10. Great. My economics teacher said that I would accomplish great things for society with the right resources. Chemistry teacher said I was the best student in 30 years.
Counselor Rec: 7/10. Good.

Respectfully, no (non-recruited athlete) applicant gets to say this. Your test scores are close to Princeton’s 25th percentile, which won’t help. URM/First gen may make up for this. However, your GPA is a little bit low too. You seem really smart and unique, so I hope that your essays and recs will give you a boost. Numbers alone don’t make you an awesome applicant, but honestly I’m not an adcom and haven’t read your essays and recs so those could definitely give you a boost.

Princeton is a reach even for perfect-stats applicant, and I don’t think anyone should feel confident about getting in. However, I hope your personality shines through and I wish you the best.
