What are my chances at the following schools? I know some may be reaches, possibly too much of a reach.
Rutgers New Brunswick (In-State)
Villanova
Syracuse
Penn State
NYU

I want you guys to be brutally honest. It would be a lot worse if you guys tell me I can get in because then when the letter comes I'll expect to get in, but be rejected.

Rutgers New Brunswick (In-State) - In
Villanova - No ****ing clue. I got in with a 3.8 GPA, 2180 SAT. My friend got deferred with a 3.4 GPA, 2010 SAT
Syracuse - In
Penn State - ?
NYU - Unlikely, but possible.

I think you have a great chance at Rutgers and Villanova but I’m not sure Penn State and NYU would totally dismiss your gpa and past performance. With that said, I’d say looking holistically you have an 81% chance at Penn State (if instate) and a 89% chance at NYU.

81% and 89%? Are you sure not 80.7% and 89.2%?

Don’t take what people say on here as what’s going to happen, meaning if people say you can get in somewhere don’t take that for granted. Honestly we’re all just making the best guesses, people on chancing threads are not adcoms. That said, I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in for Rutgers, Penn State and Syracuse. NYU is a reach but they might see the upward trend as showing promise. What were your unweighted GPA’s?

Bump. Do you guys really think I have a chance at these schools? I mean, a 2.5 and a 2.75 Freshman and Sophomore year respectively is pretty terrible. I figured schools would accept me for the person I am now, and the work ethic I have now, oppose to what I did when I was younger, but I’ve heard from other people that that is not the case.

Yes, you do.

Your definitely in at Rutgers. Penn State, probably. Same with Syracuse. I wouldn’t place my bets on NYU though. I mean, while you don’t have a solid chance, that doesn’t mean you won’t get in. It’s the luck of the draw. I just wouldn’t look forward to it too much, that’s all. It would be better if you had a few more ec’s, but sports always look good. Did you take the AP Spanish test last year, if you did well (4+) that will help too.
