Hi all.

I wanna be straightforward - My GPA is not that great (debatably bad), but i'm trying to be the candidate who can compensate with ECs/Testing. What are my chances at getting into NYU Stern RD '17?

I'm an Indian (as in the asian variety xD)

Reccomendations:
Math Department Head (BC calc teacher) - has very high opinion of me and should give excellent rec
English III H teacher - likes me as a person .. didn't do to well in her class (got a B year avg). will prlly have a good insight into my personality though.
Counselor rec - idk too much of what the counselor thinks of me.. BUT she's writing her rec based on the recs which i'm getting from outside school which are - 1. TyE Business Competition Mentor and 2. MIT professor who i did an internship with (Both EXTREMELY strong recs)

Extra curriculars... (100 million over here). Listed in order of descending importance:

Hey, i remember you from the Penn forum! you wrote that really epic poem XD. I think your chance are great, although chance threads are generally not very helpful.

Thanks man/woman! XD. Lol I don’t actually think the poem is too good. Oh well xD. Thanks anyways! Anyone else have any advice/chancing

cneogy,

I was in the same shape as you. Great extracurriculars, great ACT score, great recommendations, great essay, and a lower GPA compared to others (3.53 UW) but a great upward trend (Freshman 2.85 UW, Sophmore 4.0 UW, Junior 3.75 UW). I was accepted with fantastic financial aid to CAS EDI, this year.

CAS and Stern are comparable stats wise, so I am sure all things being equal, you have a great chance!

Thanks for the encouragement! I’m not gunna jump the gun quite yet cuz i didn’t apply ed or anything and I’m sure that must carry some weight in the end xD. Thanks again!

Anyone else wanna pitch in their two cents?

Aca-excuse me? You should apply to Barden University and join the Treblemakers if you’re a guy… or join the Barden Bellas if you’re a girl. Aca-power!

By the way…2340 SATs… are you joking me? 3.5 isn’t even that low, considering the average GPAs. You have a great shot.

Sorry man I’m all done with apps. Never gunna tackle that monster again til after college xD. Thanks for the chance tho!
