nice! I would say 80% chance you're getting in.

haha wow
: )
i would kill to go to NU
anyone else wanna put in their 2 cents?
brutal honesty is appreciated aswell

i'm pretty sure you will be accepted

however, NU doesnt have an undergraduate business program (only a minor)

you have good stats.. you have a pretty high chance of acceptance

I still have a good chance even though im applying RD?
is the 32 a little on the low side for NU?
also, are there any opportunities to take classes in Kellog while im an undergrad
thanks so much for everyone's input,
to be honest i was hoping for a more grueling assessment
the support for some reason makes me a little nervous as everyone else on these boards have such intimidating transcripts

You won't be admitted if you apply to NU's undergraduate business school since it doesn't exist. Applying to Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences and majoring in economics is an option. There are two certificate programs for undergrads run by the graduate school Kellogg School of Business for which you must apply & be accepted.
With respect to your chances for admission, they are average (20% if applying RD, higher if applying accept/reject ED) if you write a convincing application re: "Why NU?". Many applicants with higher numbers than you have are rejected each year as the WCAS averages about a 1440 SAT or a 32/33 ACT. Your AP scores are very strong, however.
Any suggestion that your chances are above the 15% to 23% range, probably does not understand the admissiom process, the competitiveness of getting into NU & the disadvantage of applying RD.
P.S. Being president of your school should be highlighted as it is a very distinguishing positive.

I'd agree your chances are only "fair" (I'd never attempt to quantitate this) applying RD. Your chances ED will, however, be substantially higher. ED generally offer a greater boost at NU than at similar ranked schools. Admissions is anxious to recruit an enthusiastic freshman class for whom Northwestern was a first choice. No better way to demonstrate that than applying ED.

In addition to ColdWind's listed options to a business major (I'd add that the certificate programs mentioned via Kellogg represent prestigious, door-opening opportunities to an undergraduate but are quite competitve), there is also:

a Business Institutions minor:
Business Institutions Program, Northwestern University

a major in the School of Education and Social Policy called Learning and Organizational Change that is often used by those considering consulting, marketing, management:
Undergraduate :: Curriculum

and a new certificate program offered to any undergraduate (with preference given to Medill students) in Integrated Marketing Communications. The IMC grad program is acknowledged as possibly the best of its kind in the world:
Medill - IMC Undergraduate Certificate

it wouldnt be a waste of an application though right?
do they accept kids like me?
would it be easier to get into a different school at Northwestern and then attempt to transfer?

nblazer201, don't misunderstand. Your stats are solid and certainly you've got a very reasonable shot at acceptance. I've tried not to put a number on your odds RD but will say I'd place it higher than ColdWind and lower than vintagegirl.

As far as where to apply, I would suggest you not try to game the system. There isn't a great amount of difference to be found between the academic credentials of applicants to the undergrad colleges. Play to your strength, i.e., apply where you honestly feel your application looks like it belongs (probably WCAS, possibly Communication or LOS at SESP) and leave the rest to the fates.
