Chance Me RD CSOM

Hi! I will be applied to Carroll Regular Decision, and was just wondering what my chances are of acceptance given my Senior Classes, SAT, and GPA:

Senior Classes (1st Term Grades):
AP French: B
AP Stats: A-
AP Calc AB: A
AP English: B
Psych/Soc Honors: A-

SAT
2150/2400
1410/1600

GPA
4.62/5.00

Thanks! This is much appreciated.

Do you know your class rank? I don’t know if this is helpful, but 4 years ago when I was admitted I had a 1990/1390 and top 6% of class. Good luck!

Okay great, thanks! My class does not have rankings unfortunately.

Does anyone else have insight into my chances? I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks, witty.

CSOM admission is tough b/c the competition is stiff. only about 1000 kids are enrolled in the whole college, as opposed to 6000 in the CA&S. If you really love BC and it is your #1, apply to CA&S, but contact BC first and research how hard it is to transfer colleges within the university. if its not your top choice, apply and hope for the best!! you have good numbers, much better then mine, and i was admitted early to CA&S. i cant see why they would reject you from CSOM :)

I would not suggest applying to A&S if you want to be in CSOM. It is very tough to transfer into CSOM from another school within BC. You probably would have a better chance applying straight to CSOM from high school. I wish I could give you some help on your chances but I have no clue how to rate. I do know that RD tends to be easier to get into than EA. Good luck!

Haha thanks for your responses! I was actually of thinking of applying to CA&S, because I want to ultimately double major in Math and Business, but Business is my primary interest so I think I’m just going to shoot for CSOM. I really hope I get in, Boston College and Villanova are my top choices right now (Georgetown is up there but I doubt I’ll get in)

Also, for further insight here is a list of my extra cirriculars and awards, to give you an idea of what my full application looks like:

Activities:

 • President of 2 different Community Service Clubs at my school
 • Treasurer of National Honors Society
 • Spent 2 summers at Brown University at their Leadership Institute (took two classes - “Leadership & Global Engagement” and “Changing Business: Becoming a Social Entrepreneur”
 • Was a student advisor on a school committee board
 • Played soccer for 3 years (JV captain for one year)
 • French Foreign Exchange
 • Layout editor of school newspaper
 • Volunteer as a elementary school reading buddy over the summer
 • Tutor math to a middle school and a high school student

Awards:

 • School award for academic excellency
 • Citation from State Senator for Community Service Club Involvement
 • $500 Grant from DoSomething.org
 • Featured as Project of the Day on DoSomething.org

well i guess BC has been giving me the wrong info because more then one person has told me that its easier to switch from another college to CA&S but its impossible to switch from CA&S to another college within BC. i asked about switching colleges at an eagle eye session because it was a concern of mine too and they said it was definitely possible. guess not. i just applied A&S tho…anyways i think you have a shot at both schools i happened to apply to both of those schools EA and got into BC and got deferred from nova, and my numbers arent anywhere near yours. Dont doubt yourself. Good luck :)

U have better stats than I did and I got into CSOM EA
