I’d rethink a sports-style essay (golf). They are generally difficult to do well, and therefor are unoriginal. Too many sports-conquering/teamwork/leadership essays become boring for the adcoms to read.

Ah ok thanks. I was still thinking about the topic and that was one of my drafts.

Also, if it makes a difference, I spent summers at JHU CTY at LMU for Chemistry class and went to the NYLF Medicine at UCLA.

If possible, I’d take AP or Honors Physics, instead of stats or econ. Your CR score is low for D, especially for an unhooked applicant, putting you in the bottom 25% with an acceptance rate of 5.3%. On the other hand, you do have a 5 on the corresponding AP exam. I don’t know how much that helps. Much will probably depend on your ECs/leadership, which I cannot evaluate, and essay. Are you recruitable in golf? Have you talked to the coach?

Yes, I do think that the summer programs can help, if they show a commitment to intellectual challenge.
