Just so you know, rice requires your entire testing history, so you have to submit all sat(s) and act scores. You look like a solid applicant from what you’ve posted.

speaking of sending all test history, i took the sat three times and feel dumb about it… didnt have to take it that third time… guess i thought having a really strong single score would be good for score choice schools… will it look bad that i did this

All I will say is that I only sent in one ACT (composite 36), and not my other ACT or my one SAT test to Rice, and I was accepted early decision for class of 2017. I’m not telling you whether you should send all of your scores or not, because I didn’t realize Rice wanted all scores until after I had sent my ACT score, but just giving you another perspective.

I mean, yeah we know that you don’t get caught if you use score choice, but if they want you to send all your scores, I think doing so is the ethical thing. So I’m going to

Erm, I reread some of the instructions on their site, seems like they only require your SAT scores if you’re using the SAT as the standardized test you apply with, they want this so they can superscore. Since the ACT doesn’t allow superscoring, they only want your best single sitting score.
SAT-IIs aren’t even mentioned.

In any case, could some people give me a bit more feedback about my grades and whatnot in general? I feel like the thread has kinda been derailed.

Based on statistics alone, I think you have a great shot of getting in. I got in ED and we have the same ACT, same GPA, and you’ve taken harder classes than I have. Your extracurriculars are good and unique. As long as you take the supplement essays seriously (and I’m sure you will), I think you will happy with the outcome. But what do I know?

About the test scores, I only submitted one sitting of the ACT. Not both of my ACT scores, not my SAT, not my subject tests. It wasn’t a problem for me. Plus it’s expensive to send lots of tests.

I go to a good private school in a small-to-medium-sized city. Nowhere near the size of Houston. We have about 115 students per grade and it’s not very diverse. Mostly middle/upper class white kids. I’m excited for the diversity at Rice.

How do I look for admission (specifically architecture)? Thank you!
