Academically you look solid…with strong essays and recs you stand a good shot. It’s tough to say because the RD pool for the ivys is so competitive, and it may hurt you a bit that your class rank is not in the top 10%, but since your school is really tough (and sends a ton of kids to ivys) that makes up for it. Overall I’d say you have a good chance, good luck to you!

runi27 is correct in saying that the connections that your school has with top schools might make up for your class rank. It’s a low to mid reach for you. If you really love Brown, apply ED! You never know what can happen Good luck!

91 hours doesn’t seem like much in a lab. If you were working on your own project, I would expect at least 150 hours per summer (and that’s only including real lab work, not lunch breaks and sitting around waiting for stuff… if you’re in a lab that doesn’t include waiting for experiments to run, I would say you would need even more hours simply because you have the opportunity to use them).

I would say your chances are pretty slim, but you definitely do have a chance. You never know unless you apply :)
