Thank You!!!

GPA in the A- range would normally lead to a likely denial. Strong upward trend gives you a better chance. Could go either way. Make sure you spend quality time on your essays as they will likely prove to be the deciding factor.

@mynamajef is the GPA weighted or unweighted? What other AP classes did you take in junior and/or sophomore year? If the GPA is unweighted, I don’t believe you would have much of a problem. Your ECs are excellent. Is there any other service besides the service trip? If so, please be sure to highlight that as well…service is very important to ND. Be sure to send a lot of time perfecting your essays. Between the four essays (common app and 3 ND) try to show different parts of your personality…i.e. don’t be too serious all the time but be sure to show your heart. There are some videos featuring Don Bishop that highlight what is important in an applicant and what types of things you should talk about in the Why ND essay. I don’t have the link, but someone else may. That 36 ACT is going to be a huge help even if your GPA is not crazy high. My DS had a 4.16 GPA as of his junior year with a 36 ACT and he was just admitted on Friday. He was light on APs going into his senior year, but in senior year had 4 APs and an honors. But he did have a strong record of service to the needy and had a good combination of arts and athletics. Good luck!
