<p>Please and thank you in advance :) I have the same thread in Harvard. just trying a few colleges to see if results differ</p>

GPA UW: 4.0
GPA W: 5.104 (my school has really inflated AP points lol)</p>

<p>SAT I:
CR: 800
Math: 790 (without score choice- 760)
Writing: 800</p>

<p>SAT II:
Math II: 790
French with listening: 800
Lit: to be taken october</p>

<p>AP Euro: 5
AP stat: 5
AP english language: 5
AP calc AB: 5
AP french language: 4
to be taken senior year: AP physics, bio, Calc BC, English lit, Gov</p>

<p>EC:
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)- Regional President, Chapter President; National Finalist: Grade 11: 3rd Place, Grade 10: 7th Place (I wont say which event so you cant identify me); State Champion: grade 10, 11
french club: president and founder
national french honor society: chapter president
Mock trial: attorney, team captain
student government: class president (grades 11)
speech and debate team: grade 10: district champion and state semifinalist
School newspaper: editorial columnist
+3 or 4 clubs I wont mention because I quit after 9th grade (the ones listed here are grades 9-12 unless otherwise specified)</p>

<p>piano: formal study for 13 years
have about 5 competitions where I ranked top 3 with prize money. won't list full music resume here</p>

<p>Volunteer:
American red cross (grades 10-12): 3.5 hours/week, 2 weeks/month
Dragonfly forest summer camp for kids with autism, blood disorders, and asthma: volunteer counselor for one month for the past 2 summers</p>

<p>some awards:
Girls speaking contest winner, grade 9+11
school talent show winner, grade 9
scripps national spelling bee finalist (that was in 8th grade but I snuck it on my app because i thought it interesting haha)</p>

<p>here's the bad part: I'm Asian...and worst, I'm chinese :( </p>

<p>Don’t worry to much. You have a pretty good shot at RD (though I’d say you were a lock for ED so if you like Columbia a lot I would consider that).</p>

<p>As for the Asian thing. Your resume doesn’t read like the stereotypical Asian so you are fine.</p>

<p>French seems to be one of your stronger suits, and yet you got a 4 on the French AP (not saying that was bad!). It just raises some eyebrows.</p>

<p>^it was meant to be sarcastic (referencing the fact that being asian significantly decreases your chances) i’m not racist, i take a lot of pride in my ethnicity. it was a joke hun ;)</p>

<p>as for the french ap, it is an EXTREMELY difficult test. no one in my district (my school, btw, is one of the top ranked public high schools in the country) has yet to get a 5. have you taken it?</p>

<p>Yeah. I got a 770 on the SAT chemistry test but only (maybe in quotes) got a 5 on the IB chem SL test, out of 7. It was a little of a disapointment, but i still have no doubts in my chemistry abilities.</p>

<p>However, stupefy I think that you put together an amazing application and you have a GREAT chance of getting in!!</p>

<p>I’d say that you have a great chance of admission! You definitely do not seem like the stereotypical Asian.</p>

<p>May I ask what you are writing your personal statement on? I think Columbia places a lot more weight onto the essay then other colleges do.</p>

for my personal essay, I plan to reuse either my common app essay or princeton supplemental essay, because they follow the same general themes. I wrote my common app essay on a significant even and my princeton one on a person who influenced me. I don’t really want to say because they’re both really personal, but if you’re really curious PM me xD</p>
