Hi, I applied to the College of Arts and Letters at Notre Dame as a Political Science major

Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 1460 (750 EBRW, 710 Math)
Weighted GPA (out of 100): 95.5 (Two 89s and one 86 in High School)
Rank: N/A-Small Catholic Prep School
AP (place score in parenthesis): 7 total, three junior year, 4 senior year (5 on APUSH and 5 AP English Language)
Senior Year Course Load: AP Lit, AP Econ, AP Envi Sci, AP Euro, Sociology, Statistics
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Debate State Runner Up Twice (See Below)

Debate (Finished Second in the State twice, won 3 County Championships, Competed at Harvard)

Job/Work Experience: Ref Soccer for 4 hours a week for 4 months
Volunteer/Community service: Local Food Banks and Soup Kitchens (150 hours total)
Summer Activities: Volunteer At Church Camp (100 hours total)
Essays: Talked about the sense of community at ND, it’s more than 4 years, growing up watching family, and how I hope to contribute on campus (All Well written, but nothing ground breaking about reasons for picking ND)
Recommendations: Probably Good, Did Well in English and History Classes and AP Exams

Background:
State (if domestic applicant): Mid Atlantic
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: $200k+
Legacy: 3 Cousins Graduated, One worked at ND for a couple years (I put on Common App, Does it help for admissions?)

The one thing is that ND seems to be very sensitive about test scores, especially in the REA round. If you go to the 6:09 mark of the video linked below, your SAT would put you just below the 25th percentile SAT score that the admissions counselor mentioned. Note that I still don’t know why the counselor cited a mid-50% SAT range that is quite a bit higher than the statistics on ND’s admissions webpage.

Given the competitiveness of REA pool, that would be the concern. Best of luck to you, and congrats on all you’ve accomplished!

Yea I watched that video from an earlier thread. The pamphlet the admissions rep handed out when she visited my high school said the ADMITTED range was 1390-1530. However, as you mention the ND website says that is the enrolled and the video says the admitted mid-50% begins at 1470. Not sure which is the most accurate. Thanks for the comment.
