Chance me really quick?

Applying LSA
Mildly competitive school
In state
Legacy and parent works at Umich
3.667 UW GPA
3.933 W GPA
32 ACT (34 math, 31 writing, 32 science and reading)
2190 SAT (750 math 750 reading 690 writing)
Good extracurriculars
Damn good essays I think.
Rec letters are good as well
Hard coursework/senior year classes

You haven’t attracted any expert opinion, so I’ll offer an inexpert opinion: 1) ACT and SAT are pretty solid relative to Michigan standards (based on my knowledge/belief of ACT around 30-33 at the interquartile range); 2) rest of application sound sounds very solid (based on your representations, which are inherently subjective due to your inability to see the rest of the pool); 3) only soft spot is that the GPA is a bit light; 4) you are in-state and legacy. I would guess that you would be a reasonable match. By “reasonable” I think/mean something better than a coin flip.

It should be a match for you from in state with legacy and affiliation. As @blue85 said, your GPA is a little bit low. But your ACT and SAT scores are both slightly above average. Slightly lower GPA is fine if that is due to your school’s grading system or highly rigor curriculum.

Additional thoughts:

1) each year for the past 5 years UM has over enrolled; this year they claim that they will enroll fewer students and use the wait list more tactically; “they” implied that the target next year will be about 500 kids fewer;

2) each year for the last 8 years applications have gone up significantly and yield is steady to slightly up;

3) even as the applications and yield go up, entering metrics (SAT/ACT/GPA) also go up;

So, proverbial bottom line is that it is getting tougher to get in. Make sure you have a “plan B” ready;

The 3.6 should be viewed in the context of YOUR high school. Ask your GC how the past couple years have done for kids with a 3.6 GPA. The 32 is great… Good luck!

Thanks everyone!

Takes a load off my mind by showing me where I stand. Whatever happens from now on will happen.
