and some medical programs like:

NEOUCOM
Pittsburgh GAP
Villanova/ Drexel
Penn State/ Jefferson

I know that these schools are kind of a reach for me, but i would greatly appreciate it if you could chance me for these schools and programs. It would be awesome if you also recommend some schools for me to look into that I have a pretty good chance of getting into, but is still a high caliber school.

I will chance you back. Thanks.

I’m not sure about the medical programs, so don’t hold me to it.
Rice University: mid reach, as your SATs could be higher and your GPA isn’t great. 40% chance.
Boston College: low reach/high match; 50%
Northwestern: low reach/high match 50%
Emory: mid reach; 40% chance
WUSTL: mid reach; 40% chance
Kenyon: not sure
Swarthmore: relatively high reach; 30% chance
Tufts: match/high match; 55% chance
Case Western: safety/in, with merit money definitely.

Chance me back?

Thanks for chancing me!

Rice University- low to mid reach
Boston College- match
Northwestern- low reach
Emory- match
WUSTL- mid reach, maybe high (GPA could be higher)
Kenyon- match
Swarthmore- match
Tufts- match
Case Western- match

And, I haven’t heard of the med programs you listed, so I can’t say. But, I’m sure you’d make it to at least an interview at them based on your stats.

Might look at Holy Cross-very good pre-med program and similar to fellow Jesuit school Boston College.

Rice University: Low Reach.
Boston College: High match.
Northwestern: Low Reach/ High Match.
Emory: Match!
WUSTL: Match!
Kenyon: Match!
Swarthmore: Hmmm. Could be a reach?
Tufts: Low reach.
Case Western: Match.

If you bring up your test scores and GPA next semester you could cement your chances, though.

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1175463-chance-me-before-i-start-essays.html</a></p>

Boston College: High Match
Northwestern: High Match
Emory: Low Reach

Swarthmore: Probably Reach

Case Western: You’re in :D

I don’t know about the medical programs at all so I can’t help you :(

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1175148-chance-me.html</a></p>

Rice University-reach
Boston College-match
Northwestern-reach
Emory-low reach
WUSTL-reach
Kenyon-don’t know
Swarthmore- reach (I don’t think some of the posters realize how elite Swarthmore really is.)
Tufts- don’t know
Case Western- match/safety

And is Pittsburgh GAP, Pitt’s medical program? If it is, just ignore what I have to say then.

I think that for value, you should definitely consider Pitt’s pre-med program. Pitt has an excellent medical school and you can already be pre-admitted to the medical school, provided you maintain something like a 3.7 GPA at Pitt, which shouldn’t be that difficult. I know quite a few people that have been pre-admitted although they were like Columbia, Northwestern, WUStl, and Duke admits so they are all elite students (and a lot of the ones I know are Indian as well). Also, with your stats, I’m sure that you would be eligible for a huge academic scholarship from Pitt so you may end up paying for only housing and dining. It’s definitely worth considering.

Rice University - Reach
Boston College - Low Reach
Northwestern - Reach
Emory - Reach
WUSTL - Reach
Kenyon - Match
Swarthmore - High Reach
Tufts - Low Reach
Case Western -Match

NEOUCOM - Don’t know enough to say
Pittsburgh GAP - Extremely high Reach
Villanova/ Drexel - Mid Reach
Penn State/ Jefferson - High Reach

Do you know your class rank? The main thing that would hold you back is your gpa for some of these schools and ECs aren’t that good. For the med programs, it would be better if you had more medical related ECs. Also, the med programs want top kids, with high SATs/SAT IIs and gpas. But in terms of other schools, take a look at CMU or public ivies like UVA, W&M (good pre-med) which would be within your range.

Yeah, anthony the GAP program is Pittsburgh’s guaranteed program.

My school does not have class rank. I would confidently say I’m in the top 10%, maybe top 5%, though. i also forgot to mention that by the time I apply I will have like 200+ hours of research from Ohio State and will shadow a doctor. So how does that change my chances for the medical programs?

Rice University - Reach
Boston College - Low Reach
Northwestern - Reach
Emory - Low Reach
WUSTL - Reach
Kenyon - Match
Swarthmore - Reach
Tufts - Low Reach
Case Western -Match

As many have said before i think your GPA is what will hinder you the most. your SAT subject arent that great either (mine are crappy too haha) but yea i think you may have a very strong chance if you applied early to rice or any of the other schools that would be a reach/low reach. admission rates are always better and less rigorous from my POV

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1177104-chance-me-d-duke-rice-hopkins-washu.html</a> :D

I think you have a really great chance at most of the schools! focus on the subjective materials and I think you have a fair chance!
Rice University - High Match (low SAT math score)
Boston College - Match
Northwestern - Low reach (SAT Math and Writing)
Emory - Match
Kenyon - Match
Swarthmore - Low Reach/ Reach (SAT and GPA)
Tufts - Match
Case Western -Match

All these schools cept for NU are matches given your SAT score. Just be confident in yourself.

Have you looked into the UC schools? UCSD has one of the best medical programs in the nation and likewise for UCLA. And not to mention the California weather! You are a highly competitive applicant to all of the schools you listed! You should look into the UC schools though! Hope this helped! chance me back? :)

They all appear to be very good matches for you! While Rice and Northwestern are probably the two most competitive, Northwestern has recently started a push for making standardized test scores count for much more than they used to, so that’s great news for you! Hope all goes well!

@neoreo67, I don’t think that I want to go as far as Cali, even though it would be pretty sweet. Also can you post a link to your chance page?

Haha, sorry! But you should, Cali is pretty nice!
