Hello CC,

I am a current sophomore at Southwest Minnesota State University (small university in the Midwest). I really want to go to top graduate school for computer science and I am well aware that research plays a huge role.

I currently have a 3.816 GPA (looking to get that up to a 3.85~ hopefully by the end of senior year). I am a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science (but I am going to graduate school for Comp Sci). I held a leadership position in the math & computer science club and also the chess club during my freshmen year. I stepped from those positions to participate in D2 Track and Field for my school where I am currently a sprinter. I also placed in the top 50% at the ACM competition in Nebraska (I know that's nothing even remotely success but now I know how to approach and hope to exceed that placement next year competition). I am also a presidential member of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success.Oh, I am also an honor student.

I am trying to participate in as much activities as I can while still trying to maintain high GPA with a double major and honors. I currently applying for summer REU in the computer science fields, I was wondering what you guys think my likelihood would be to score a research opportunity?
