Ayn Rand essay competition semifinalist
umm was one of top 12 in nation in wodmasters. if that counts...

yeah that's it. I hang my head down in shame at my accomplished CC peers.

You’re in at all those schools and you know it.

that’s very nice of you to say, but I doubt that I’ll be a definite at the schools where my competition has spent summers doing prestigious interning or college programs (while I’ve been cleaning houses…)

First gen low income Hispanic high sat’s high GPA if I put money on anyone to get in at all of these schools it would be you. You should have applied to HYPS because you’d have a good shot t those too.

I only know about BC, Colgate, and Tufts, and you’re in at all three I would say.

Like soccer said, why didn’t you apply to Ivies? If it was because you didn’t think you could get in, probably a mistake, if you didn’t want to go there, completly different story.

you guys don’t think my EC’s were weak? I mean that’s literally it. I’ve done nothing remarkable.

Nice. In at all, except Swarthmore/Barnard, which are slight reaches.

Chance back.

honestly, i think you made this knowing people would disagree and praise what u’ve done. you have remarkable stats and your EC’s are average at the least.

that’s not true at all. I’m not diminishing the fact that my grades are great, I’ve worked hard and I think i deserve them.
but things like being Hispanic, poor, or having uneducated parents are completely out of my control.
and my ec’s being average is due to my own laziness, which (I thought) would really harm me when I’m up against really motivated students in the top colleges. they’ve got remarkable things under their belt, and all I have are a few mediocre clubs that require minimal attendance, and some hooks that are completely decided by chance.
on a side note my email is almost identical to your name bookworm. just saying.

(sorry for the rant)
btw sohopeless, I’d love to chance you back since you did mine, but I don’t have any experience doing it and I’d be lying if I pretended I could.
if you really want I’ll give it a shot though.

Being a poor Hispanic first-generation applicant helps you.

your in at all of those schools, your SAT score is good. now please chance me back

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1086809-what-chances-do-i-have.html

you dont stand a chance at any of these :P

nah seriously you are undermining yourself your stats are great and all your colleges are within your reach :)

chance back

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1079059-chance-me-ambitious-applicant.html

With your SAT score, ECs, and grades, you should have no problem at all getting into any of them. Don’t worry.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1087095-chances.html

^and this is going to save you. Btw, your EC’s aren’t bad, there average to above-average. Agreed with above posters. You should have applied to IVY leagues. Every ivy league doesn’t want all their students to have 2300+, 3.9+, amazing EC’s; they need diversity.

thanks everyone.
but now I’m wondering whether I should have had an ivy reach school on the list…
sigh, I guess my sister will learn from this. (she has similar stats and is a junior)

You’re crazy. You’re definatly in. Good luck.

Chance me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1072869-what-do-you-think-my-chances.html

Your GPA and SAT are outstanding. You have some very nice ECs as well that I don’t think should be classified as “mediocre”.

You’ll get into all of those schools. If not, I’d certainly be very surprised. No joke.

Best of luck to you!

Chance me back (again)? I updated it… http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1165818-chance-incoming-senior-fordham-nyu-barnard-ivies.html
