Chance Me, RPI is Top choice

GPA- 3.3-3.5. W Little shaky because my school hasn't updated GPA stats for some reason. But I'm sure I'm in that range. B+, A- Range.

School Rank- My School doesn't rank

SAT: 2040 (680 M, 690 W, 680 CR)- I know Math is weak..
SATII: Biology- 740, Chemistry- 650 - Retaking, US History 690, Will take Math II Level 2, Practice Tests average 700 range.

Ap Scores:
Comp Sci A (3)
US History (4)
Euro History (4)
Biology (4)
Chemistry (3) I suck at Chem for some reason

AP's I will be taking

Physics
Psychology- Possible

Extra Curicculars
Debate Since 8th Grade. Debate Camp every year since then. Won Semi Finals at tournament with over 90 teams. Couple of speaker awards at Several other Tournaments. Expect to garner bids for Tournament of Champions before I hand in App and during the school year.

Academic Challenge- Whole team Qualified for Finals, so I can't really take credit for it. Wasn't able to go due to schedule conflicts. Part of this for 3 years.

Debate Took up too much time to invest in other real EC's.

Also, these two clubs don't really have a captain status or anything. We just do the activity, and have a person sign the papers, whom we voted secretary arbitrarily.

I was also part of things like the Tech club, but they were cut due to budget

Planning on Setting up an interview soon, but does the interview help? I saw somewhere that RPI doesn't look at the interview much

I'm not sure if I want to do ED, because I think I may want to try and boost my GPA.

I'm also a Korean Male
But thoughts?

I think that only if you apply ED you might have a fair chance (sorry :o)...and since your ECs are pretty weak that is going to hurt you...your SAT is good, but your math could have been higher...

overall you have a fair chance.

I was actually thinking about doing ED2, so I can get my GPA up while getting the same benefits of normal ED.

Is there a big differance between the 2?

I think that his ECs are really good; he's done a lot with debate.

I'm not good at chancing since I'm just a senior, too, but I definitely think you can get in! Your GPA and your math score could be higher, but they're not bad by any means.

I think Debate is a great EC to have, since it's in the humanities area. They'll prefer that to just another Science Olympiad/Tech Club kind of person. Your SATs are definitely high enough for admission. GPA is a bit on the low side, but still all right... Bio SAT II obviously strong. Shoot for a great score on Math II.

Most importantly, definitely SHOW INTEREST in RPI. Have an interview, attend information sessions if you can, visit campus. I would apply Early Decision: I don't think your numbers are low enough that you'll get rejected, maybe only deferred.

Is there a large differnace between the admission rates of Ed1 and Ed2? I want to do ED, but I think I want to wait until I get 1st semester grades in, unless RPI loks at first quarter grades for ED1.
