Chance me, Rutgers Penn st, usc, UNC

<p>hi, im a junior at an nj high school. i am indian (not native american tho) looking into engineering (specifically civil) or some kind of management major.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.25 (out of 5), im pretty sure thats weighted, but im not fully aware if it is.</p>

<p>SAT
Math: 640
Reading: 700
Writing: 670
Total: 2010</p>

<p>I plan on taking them again in October. Im getting a tutor over the summer to help push it to a 2100 or higher,</p>

<p>took SAT II math 2 in may, pretty sure i got a 700, i might try it again for an 800, gonna do SAT II bio, and perhaps US history.</p>

<p>AP's:
junior year: AP Calculus AB, AP Biology
senior year: AP US History, AP Macroeconomics, Possibly AP Chemistry, and i might take a CTY course for AP Physics becuase my school changed eligibilty for getting into AP Phys.</p>

<p>Extra Curricular:</p>

<p>FIRST Robotics- Team captain, head of 2 separate comittees
National Honors Society - general member</p>

<p>Organized Sports outside of school (local leagues etc.)</p>

<p>Volunteer at FIRST Events (about 50-60 hours)
Volunteer at my library last 3 years (120 hours total)</p>

im getting a job at my local walmart/ target etc this summer into next yr.</p>

<p>What are my chances of getting into: Rutgers, Penn State, USC (socal), UNC, Georgia Tech, etc.</p>

<p>i think you should get into rutgers and penn state- if you apply early. idk about usc and unc though.</p>

<p>I’d say you’re in at Rutgers and probably Penn State. If your GPA is weighted, then USC, UNC, and Georgia Tech might be a bit of a reach since your math scores would be low for engineering. But if you can get that to a 700+, I’d say you’d stand a fairly decent shot at all of your schools.</p>

<p>Yeah although you can easily get into the schools in general, I’d suggest some better leadership EC’s or volunteering or internships or something to help you stand out for more prestigious of their schools.</p>

<p>yeah the math is gonna go way up. im gonna be studying hard this summer to get that up to a 700 plus…</p>

<p>the extracurriculars i know could use a little help, but im working on it :)</p>
