Chance me? School of Eduacation

Hello! I’m interested in applying to UMich and I’m just curious about what my odds are. I know it is my reach school, but I’d just like to hear some opinions.

ACT: Cummulative 26. Reading–35. English–32. Math --17. Science–20. I know the discrepancy is ridiculous. I’m retaking w a math and science tutor.

GPA (unweighted): 3.85 with many advanced and a handful of AP classes.
(1.5 credits of advanced social studies, AP Gov, .5 credits of advanced science, AP Literature, AP Language and composition, 2.5 credits of advanced English, standard math all 4 years)

Extra curriculars/outside of school/other:

  1. Executive of my leadership club and team captain of my leadership team (captain 2 years and executive 1)
  2. National Honor Society Member (2 years)
  3. Senior Government Rep (elected by class of 600)
  4. President of AFS
  5. Over 100 hours of volunteerism per year
  6. Summer camp counselor at an overnight summer camp
  7. Student council member

I have 9 family members who graduated from UMich and I am an out of state student (Wisconsin). I also have taken a total of 3 classes which give me college credits directly towards my major.

Like I said, I know that it is unlikely I’ll get accepted, but I wanted to hear anyone’s thoughts! Thanks so much!

First I would start with the correct spelling of education. Next you need to improve the Act. With a 26 that is just too low. Naviance should tell you more. Michigan is a math centric school. If you got A’s in math and a 17 on the Act then there is a severe disconnect. Act is a very fast test. Maybe the Sat would be a better test for you? Getting the Act to a 33 might take more then one more attempt but good luck.
