Chance Me: SDSU, SJSU, CSUF, CSUMB.

Many of my friends are getting acceptances from other CSUs. I’m starting to get concerned even though I did not apply to any of them. I realized that the ones I applied to are impacted and my major might be impacted as well. The universities I would really like to be accepted into are SDSU and CSUF.
I applied to CSU Fullerton, San Jose State, San Diego State, and CSU Monterey Bay.
Major: Biology
SAT: 1300
GPA: 4.57
ACT: 26 (Really low, I know :frowning: but I took it once and decided not to take it again.)
I don’t think CSUs look at extracurriculars so I won’t make the list longer

The CSU’s admit by eligiblity index and major. First you need to calculate your capped weighted CSU GPA, here is the link and then plug in your information for the SAT or ACT to calculate out your eligibility index.

https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/eligibility-index

Post your Eligibility index and your intended major to get your chances. All the CSU’s you have applied are impacted which means there a more qualified applicants than spots so it may take longer to get your acceptances.

Sorry exception for the impacted campuses is CSUMB. Most CSU’s will start admitting applicants from February to Early April.

Unless you don’t have the a-g courses complete or you capped GPA is dramatically different than the over-all GPA you list above, i think you will get into all the schools on your list. If you have a 1300 and a capped CSUGPA above 3.5, you should be all set for SDSU - the most selective school on your list.

good luck.

I am a HUGE CSU proponent but, I am curious, why no UCs or Privates on your ap list?

I actually applied to more UCs than I did with CSUs (UCLA, UCB, UCSC, UCSD, UCI, UCM) and UCLA is my dream school. I also applied to two privates. I am just being overly concerned because I view the CSUs as my safety schools and it is discouraging me that other students are getting acceptance letters and I have not.
