Hi all! Starting to seriously think about transferring to BU this spring.
3.2 total GPA - will hopefully be 3.3/.4 at the end of the semester
3.51 current institution GPA
3.55 Highschool GPA
mediocre SAT/ACT but I might not have to submit them
High school involvement:
3 season athlete, President of model UN, employed 3 years, DECA national qualifier.
Involvement at my current/previous colleges:
Member of a sorority and freshman representative to the executive board, DECA, Chairperson of Model UN team, Elected senator, and member of love your melon.
Community outreach program where I coach and chair middle school Model UN conferences and teach them about model UN.
Currently a business and international relations double major but planning on dropping business down to a minor and just apply to Pardee for IR.
Also pre-law.
If anyone could help I am really torn between applying for the spring or fall. I really hate my current school and BU has always been my dream school. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hi, I was also from Suffolk University student and was accepted to BU for the Fall 2018, so I could give you some advice.
My stats were:
College GPA: 3.85 (3.87 before Spring 2018)
High School GPA: 2.66 (I know I wasn’t that great as a high school student)
Clubs: MUN, Japanese Student Association, and Japanese Student Association
In my honest opinion, I think it would be better if you try to get a minimum of 3.5 GPA in total as it stated that their accepted transfer students had an average GPA of 3.5 and one of my friends who tried to get into BU and Northeastern failed with a GPA of around 3.5. However, I think you still have a good chance as your high school GPA is higher and you more extracurricular activities than me. Also, have a look at BU’s transfer equivalency to choose classes in the Spring that would be accepted in BU as a lot of my credits were not accepted and not equivalent to BU’s classes. For example, I took the BLE 214 & 215 (Business Law and Ethics classes) in Suffolk and had to retake similar classes in BU right now even though they taught similar topics and I tried to appeal for Business Law.
