Chance me: small liberal arts colleges

@Lindagaf : thank you for the additional advice. I have considered about test optional schools (e.g Pitzer College and Hamilton College) because of their test optional policy since I can’t be sure that I will get a higher SAT score, and now that you and all the helpful online people have recommended several other colleges to me, I will have a broader range of colleges that may potentially fit me (upon more future researches). That being said, I do believe that with constant practice and review on what I got wrong on the practices, my SAT score will improve (and 50% of the new SAT is math so that gives me some advantage).

@Butter7, Hamilton isn’t Test Optional, it’s Test Flexible which means you can submit a mix of test results but no test results isn’t an option.

@Chembiodad : that’s what I meant, I’m sorry about the confusion. Thank you for reminding me though.

@butter7, just make sure you submit one of these combinations if you decide that Hamilton is a fit;

Hamilton’s applicants are best served by being provided with a variety of ways to meet our standardized test requirement. They include:
The SAT (Essay optional for redesigned SAT); OR
The ACT (Writing Section optional); OR
Three individual exams of your choice, selected from SAT sections (including Essay test from redesigned SAT), SAT subject tests, ACT writing, AP scores or IB final exams. One must be a verbal or writing/essay test, one must be a quantitative test, and the third is your choice. The following tests satisfy Hamilton’s quantitative and verbal/writing requirements:
Acceptable Quantitative Tests: SAT Math; SAT Subject Tests in Math, Chemistry, or Physics; AP Computer Science A, Chemistry, Economics, Math, Physics, or Statistics; IB final exam results for Chemistry, Computing Studies, Economics, Math, Physics, or Physical and Chemical Systems

Acceptable Verbal/Writing Tests: Old SAT Critical Reading; Old SAT Writing; SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing; ACT Writing; SAT Subject Test in Literature; AP English Language and Composition or English Literature and Composition; official IB final exam results for Language (A1, A2, or B English)

And you also need to recognize that only 20% of the students are accepted through this path and the acceptance rate is less than 20%.
