Chance me so far for top schools?

Hi, I’m a current sophomore looking to get some feedback on my profile. Obviously I don’t have all the parts required to accurately chance someone but please just rate me based on what I have. Mainly my EC’s. I’m from NC.

Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0):4.0

Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable):4/400+

AP (place score in parenthesis):planning on taking around 10 total(school doesn’t allow AP’s freshmen year and limited sophomore year)

Extracurricular Activities (place leadership in parenthesis):

Volunteer at Non-Profit(9th, Program Coordinator, help teach kids, assign hw, basically school outside of school)
Science Olympiad (10th, co-founder, just started)
FBLA (10th, will run for office)
Beta Club(10th, will run for office)
Environmental Club(10th, might become president or other high officer)
JV/Varsity Soccer (10th, Captain of JV, will be co-captain of varsity by senior year)

Summer Activities:
Volunteer at Hospital(10th)
STEM Research at Summer Ventures (hopefully 11th, if i get accepted)\

Tentative List:
Columbia, UPenn, Duke- to see if its worth applying, do i need to cure cancer to get in or are my ECs good enough?
UNC-ideal school
NC State, Wake Forest, Indiana- ideal match/safety schools

You seem to be on the right track to becoming a good candidate for those schools although I think you shouldn’t call Wake Forest a safety school its a very good competitive school. Obviously if you’re heart is set on the schools like Columbia, Penn and Duke you need to test well so I would recommend working hard to prep for those as low scores for a school as competitive as those will put you way behind the ball so to speak. Your EC’s are good not outstanding (i.e. no one activity makes you stand out any more than an average applicant). You’re on the right track but being a sophomore obviously you don’t have quite the data to chance you fully. Keep doing what you’re doing and it will put you into the position senior year to be a good candidate for Columbia, Penn, and Duke. My advice though take some time to enjoy being in high school and don’t start worrying so early about getting into an upper echelon school.

@hssenior27 Thanks for the feedback. I will try my best to chance you!

Your GPA is impeccable as of now, but you don’t have test scores yet. Your extra curriculars seem rather pedestrian
At the same time you are still a sophomore so you have more time to improve upon those. You seem to be headed in the right direction but we can’t say more than that since all you have is your GPA (uptill now).

@thecoolboy1234 thanks for commenting! Can you tell me how I can make my EC’s unpedestrian?

Thats hard to say and I dont want to discourage you because you are on the right path.

If anything to make your extra curriculars stand out, find your passion (if possible) and pursue it
