Chance me so I can sleep peacefully

Consider Lehigh. They have a strong engineering program and are one of those "up and coming" schools getting more attention in Newsweek, US News, etc.

yea i was thinking about lehigh but i didnt like the atmosphere...maybe others?

how u go from a 3.18 uw to a 5. weighted? You took like alot of weighted classes?

You're a typical BRWK. I won't chance you for anything except UTAustin because I don't believe I'm well-informed enough.

And I'd have to say you'd be a reject for engineering at UTAustin. It's a highly competitive program, and Texas's 10% rule guarantees spots in its universities to the top 10% students IN STATE first. Especially in a competitive school like engineering, your lower GPA and out-of-state residency will be hard for you to get in.

As for getting into another school like Natural Sciences, you have a chance.

I disagree about UMich. Considering the vast amount of kids who already have been accepted from my school, Michigan is not being too picky this year. While your GPA is very low, your SATs are much better than the average kid who is getting in. I say you have a decent shot.

You'll get into case. Did you apply EA?

no im applying regular to Case..thanks a lot for your input..and I'm applying to Umich this weekend (aka tonight or tomorrow morning)

also, for any of these schools do you think I would have a better shot applying to the equivalent of colleges of arts and sciences then transferring my sophmore year into college of engineering?

Tphillip: My school weights out of 6.0 (no idea why) but basically if you've taken all honors or AP's you just add 2.0 to your weighted. However, my school DOES NOT weight honors and AP's differently so I'm hoping when colleges recalculate my GPA, it will go up.

Boston University (sister attended..not sure if it helps)-in
Northwestern University-reach
Rice University-reach
Umass Amherst (in state)-in
University of Texas: Austin-semi reach
University of Michigan-reach
UPenn-reach
MIT-reach
Northeastern University-in
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute-match
Case Western Reserve University-dont know

good list of school...

I think you might have a better chance at U. Michigan than most people seem to think. Although your GPA is pretty low, I think that is balanced by your excellent EC's (the internship at Harvard Med, for exampple)
I think you'll get into Northwestern, Boston, and Michigan.
Good luck!

thank you for your responses everyone!

a few more chances please?
