I'm an Anthro major. I plan on applying this November. I began going to community college in fall 2006 then dropped out like an idiot. I ended up getting 3 W's and a F. Two of the three W's were remedial nontransferable courses. i started college again in 2008 and retook the class I got a F in and got an A. I have 4.0 transferable GPA since the F got replaced, a 3.896 GPA with my remedial nontransferable courses added in, and a 4.0 in all Anthro classes. I have NO ec's, which is what worries me the most. No TAP, no clubs, no volunteering. The only awards i have: deans honor list and I received "the Mary and Rawley Miller honors scholarship of anthropology." IGETC will be completed this fall, all prereqs are completed. I will probably join Phi Theta Kappa though as soon as fall semester starts. Please chance me, applying to UCLA and CAL.

You shouldn’t be so worried about extracurriculars. GPA is the most important factor for transfer students. The average transfer GPA for Anthropology majors is about 3.5 (UCLA)

You should be fine for both Cal and UCLA.

I think you’re good. 99.87536% in.

In fact, you’re my competition! I’ll be ending up with around a 3.4 by the end of Fall, applying to Anthro at UCLA. Well, if I’m able to finish my TAP then I’ll apply to History, with Anthro as an alternate. But I think you’re all set. If for peace of mind, you could look up SOME EC’s, like a job or something, but I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

Way to hang in there, nice job man.

Judging by your GPA alone I’d say your chances stand strong.

9.99/10

you’ve really been ‘stressing’ for anthro with a 4.0?

everything will be ok. trust me.

you are probably in.
