Hi I’m a sophomore looking for potential chances of getting into UVA or higher level schools. I want to major in Neuroscience. I do not have my SAT or ACT scores yet or my GPA. It is currently 4.0 unweighted, but I do not have my weighted GPA yet because my AP and IB courses I have taken this year and plan to take junior and senior year are not counted yet.
Here are the courses I take/plan to take
10th grade: AP Psych, AP Government, AP Latin, Spanish 3, English, IB Math SL, Chem
11th: IB English, IB Bio, IB History, IB Math SL 2, AP Stat, IB Latin, IB Spanish
12th: IB English, IB Bio, IB History, IB Latin, IB Spanish, AP Calc, AP Physics
ECs: Executive Council of SCA, Class Council, Young Dems, Founder and President of Girls Learn International (starting next year), co founder of Students Demand Action Group, Psychology club, Gifted Organization, National Honor Society, Spanish honor society, Latin honor society, and hopefully English or science honor society next year. I also want to try for a few more leadership positions in these clubs junior and senior year and I am currently applying to be a mentor for freshmen
I have been taking dance classes since I was three years old and on a competitive dance team since I was in 4th grade.
This summer I plan on volunteering at a camp for autistic children, and I also have volunteered with SPCA, canvassing for politicians, and Spanish tutoring. I am looking into a political or psychology internship.
I know I don’t have enough info yet, but with decent test scores and GPA do I have a chance at good schools? Are there any other courses I should be taking for neuroscience major?
