Idk about NMS Commended because I never got an email or anything but I got a 220 in California which is short of Semifinalist by 1 point :///
[Scared that this category is kinda blank idk if I should pump it up with other less meaningful stuff or is it fine as is? Wouldn’t adding arguably meaningless stuff just dull the award sections as a whole? My school doesn’t really give out awards until the end of senior year and doesn’t even have honor roll anymore.]
Other (kinda random):
Attended Summer Camp for Engineering at Stanford (summer before junior year)
Built 3D Printer in 8th grade
Know some coding languages (though that’s from years ago I’m not very invested in it anymore I don’t think it’s worth mentioning on the application)
Interested in a career and major of Chemical Engineering and considering a double major or minor with Psychology or maybe Environmental Sciences (depending on the directions I decide to go)
Essays:
Common App: 9/10
Others: Putting a lot of work into them so probably 8 or 9/10’s [maybe even some “perfect ones”
]
Recommendations:
The 1st teacher recommendation is from my chemistry teacher from sophomore year who knows me very well as I talk to him a lot and as he is also the teacher adviser for photography club. He writes a great recommendation letter as well (as I’ve been told).
The 2nd teacher recommendation is from my math teacher of 3 years who knew my sister and knows me very well as I am one of his best students. He also runs CAML at our school and always sees that I do exceedingly well among my peers in both competitions and in class. Though he is not a literary guy, I also hear that he writes an incredible letter which should be nice.
The counselor recommendation should be good too. She doesn’t know me that closely, but she still definitely knows me and has always been accommodating and nice.
ANY INPUT AT ALL IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!! I really want to go to Stanford and have a few friends there who keep trying to convince me that I’ll get in without a doubt, but I think they’re just being nice. Any assurance in the anxiety inducing times of college admissions or even a shot down to reality would be helpful. As I said, please chance me and if I can help in any way to your situations (ex: chance you back), just let me know.
Have a great day!
