FBLA: Sophomore year district champion in public speaking, Junior year (predicted) winning nationals in public speaking II

You’re predicting that you’ll get test scores in the top 1% and win nationals in public speaking. Hard to give you an accurate guess until you know what your test scores/awards will really look like.

Just curious, which of those AP scores are predictions and which of them are real? Your ECs are great, but it’s hard to chance without knowing standardized test scores.

I know it isn’t what you want to hear, but @NotVerySmart hit it head on. You can’t predict those scores. Not only does it make you come off as cocky and overconfident, but scoring in the top 1% is not just something to be tossing around predictions for. Granted, it seems like you’re a smart student who would have as good a shot as any to do so, but never predict anything like that. The nationals win prediction was also premature. Your EC’s are good obviously. And as a side note, AP scores don’t matter for college admission, in fact, counselors don’t even look at those scores until enrollment. Now to the chancing… Cornell, I’m going to say you have a pretty good chance to get in. It’s just about the easiest Ivy to get into. Harvard and Stanford are going to be reaches just like the rest of the talented admission pool. It’s probably going to be decided in your essays, recommendations, and general feel you give off to the counselor. If I could offer a piece of advice, when writing your essays or when meeting an admissions counselor for an interview, try your best not to come off as overconfident. Look, you’re a great student with a bright future; you know that. You just seem to me like you kind of assume that you’re a little bit entitled to admission to these schools from your post. I’m not in any way trying to criticize you; I just don’t want that to be the only thing that keeps you from getting to go to your dream school. I wish the best of luck to you in your endeavors.

Are your grades and activities predicted too?
