Intended Major: Computer Science + Business
State: Washington
Gender: Female

Thoughts? Also any other application tips will be greatly appreciated thank you

Have you done a lot of research on Stanford as a school?

They don’t have business majors for undergraduate. What you might be interested in is the Management Science and Engineering degree, plus the computer science degree if you still want it.

Your ECs look okay by Stanford standards. If you could talk indepth about one of them in an essay, that would be great. Unless something great happened with your mobile applications business, don’t talk about that in your essay, but do mention it in your list of ECs. I suggest talking about the TEDx talk you gave, since that is fairly unique.

Your scores aren’t great. If you could push up that SAT to 2200s or 2300s, you would have a much better chance, obviously. A 2100 should get them to look carefully at your app tho. I suggest taking Calc BC if possible, since computer science does have a lot to do with math.

As always, top schools like Stanford are a crapshoot, but you do have a fairly strong app, so good luck.

P.S About the microsoft bootcamp, was the prereqs really hard? It’s mainly for adults, but I really want to do it, too.

Thanks for the feedback! My school didn’t offer Calc BC until this year, and basically the math track we are on was decided when we were in elementary school.

Yeah, for undergrad I’ll major in computer science and maybe an MBA for graduate school (but that’s still really far out, I probably shouldn’t have put it on here)

Thanks though. Working on that SAT Score
