I’m well aware that I’m not a senior but it’s never too late to think about colleges  Any comments would be appreciated!! thank you so much!

Your testing is adequate, but you could use so more challenging courses. Stanford is an extremely selective university and you really have to push yourself to even be considered by them.

You’ve got good stats going for you, but what about ECs? What are your passions and major? How you present yourself in your essays next year will affect your chances at getting in somewhere where many students will have a similar academic profile to you.

Thanks so much! @kimclan1 well i guess i’ll be taking a more APs next year (as they’re the most challenging courses offered at my school). How many would you recommend I need in total to show that I’m challenging myself?

Though obviously you have done well so far, but nothing outstanding for a school of that caliber - Reach

try to make USAMO and it’ll make you stand out

I’m sure you realize, but in case you don’t, you can’t “major in medicine”. Good luck!

Just a tip. Colleges do not want to see awards from middle school. I also competed in mathcounts and was 10th in my state my eighth grade year. I would never put anything before 9th grade on any application, so i would attempt to break that habit now.

@Falcon1 oops haha well i appreciate you commenting!

Thank you! I’ll definitely keep that in mind for next year @lhd512

@uclaparent9 thank you! your comment will definitely motivate to try even harder the remainder of my junior year. Stanford is my dream school so next year I’ll definitely be looking for more match type schools.

@andyis That’s my goal this year! Thank you for commenting

30% youre a qualified candidate but your lack of hooks and weak ECs are gonna be an impediment to admissions. Regardless, your test scores and GPA are phenomenal. Best of luck. Hopefully you get into your dream school, youre a phenomenal candidate for many schools, including Stanford

Ahh students like you make me want to curl up in a corner and cry. For a nonhooked applicant, your chances are as good as they get. Though you may want to work on some more achievment and flashiness for those ECs. Stanford is extremely unpredictable, but good luck!

Rejected.

I’ll be actually REALLY surprised, if you somehow get admitted.

Good luck, though.

*oh, and I’m aware that you’re not a senior.

Thanks! Although that did feel a little harsh I need these criticizing comments to remind myself to keep working harder! Stanford of course is a high reach school for me, I mean it’s a reach school for a lot of people! Sorry for bringing up the junior part many times, I just wanted to make sure people knew that so I wouldn’t get many unreasonable questions and things lol.

Do you have any tips on how I can do better? That’s the main reason why I posted on here, to get advice. Again, thank you for taking the time to reply! @Mminjjae

Thank you so much! I actually don’t know what a hook is so I’m going to look that up and see if it applies to me in any way. Weak ECs are a problem many people brought up, do you have any tips on how to improve them? @giraffeinatree

Your encouraging comment really makes my day haha thank you for commenting and I’ll be sure to take your advice! @divinggirl6

…Adding to my comment in the earlier post (#4), you need to get better scores in your remaining APs in addition to improving on your ECs.

I suggest you try applying to programs such as SIMR or the NIH this summer.
