Planning to apply to Stevens and Rutgers for engineering … what are my chances of getting in?
SAT: 2100
APs taken: Art History, United States History 2
APs taken Senior Year: Chemistry, Calculus AB, World History
Honors Classes taken: Algebra 2, Biology, United States History 1, Math Analysis, Chemistry
GPA - 99% weighted (school does not calculate GPA on 4.0 scale)
ECs: Math Club Member (4 Years), Chess Club Director of Communications (4 Year), Academic Club President (3 Years), Debate Club Member (1 Year), Varsity Track (3 Years), National Honors Society, German Honors Society
Based on test scores and GPA, I think Rutgers is a safety for you…maybe engineering is a very low match. Stevens is a match…a lower one too. I think you’ll get merit from both, maybe not full though necessarily. You don’t really have any engineering ECs though, so make sure you’re able to write good essays!
Is it possible for me to get a full ride to Rider University and/or Montclair State University? Thanks so much for your feedback.
Full ride to Montclair and rider, and good amount of scholarship from Rutgers. Friend got into engineering with lower weighted gpa and lower sat (he is white, has no parents from/ working at Rutgers). He also got 10k scholarship.
@johnd2001 Definitely try NJIT. They are really good at giving merit to great students and you have pretty good stats.
