Chance me! Summer 2012 Term Deferred.

Yesterday UCF had posted on myUCF that i had been deferred until i send in my transcript containing my current grades, which are less than stellar. 3 C's, a B, and an A. Which brings my GPA down to a 2.94. Which is on the border of horrible for me, went down from a 3.5.
But, on the bright side i have gotten all but one of my weakest subjects out of the way (need another math). Other than the math, i should be able to get my GPA back up this following semester. A was in English, B was in Bio. The C's were in Math, History, and Bio lab. I don't do well in labs for some reason, though i do try my best. :)

My current stats are

SAT (Highest Scores) Total: 1640
CRITICAL READING: 560
MATH: 560
WRITING: 520
ACT (Highest Composite Scores) Composite: 21

Current GPA- 2.94.
Before last semesters GPA 3.5.
High school weights GPA - 3.3
Unweighted GPA- 3.0

Currently have -19 Hr credits.
after this spring semester - 31 hr credits.

I am wondering if i should just cut my losses and wait till i receive my AA, which would be next Christmas (summer will be full of classes also)?
Or
Should i call today and see if i am able to come in for an interview the week UCF opens back up? I live an hour or two away and it's not that bad of a drive. I tried looking on the UCF website, i could not fine anything about applying for an interview. So i turned to College Confidential.

I just don't know what to do, so i am looking for someone to chance me and give me some advice! Help! :D

Honestly, I am very surprised that with your listed stats, the UCF
admissions committee has offered you a deferral pending your first semester
senior grades. You should consider yourself very lucky that you are still
eligible for possibly admissions and I’d strongly suggest that you attempt your very
best in improving your grades in order to maximize your admission probabilities.

Have you already taken your finals? If not, really study, and make sure you do well! Also, it would hurt to ask a couple of your favorite teachers for letter of rec, and let them include how much you want to be in the school:) Has there been any accomplishments/awards, etc, that you have gained since being deferred? If so, mention those, too! At this point, I feel like it’s the flip of a coin, and can go either way. You started off with a GPA that is good enough for summer, and maybe they’ll see that you just didn’t have such great luck this semester-It happens!
Right now, I’m in your same situation. Accepted two months ago for summer, then my acceptence was pulled a couple weeks ago, because they mixed up my GPA with my twin brothers:/ We’re both currently under review, and they would like to see that we’re completing our first semester well enough. I have around the same grades, 2 C’s (One in an AP class) two B’s (One in an AP class) and an A (In AP english) but have yet to take my finals. Maybe ask your teachers for extra credit? I wish you the best of luck!:)

I’ve already taken my Finals etc. I passed everything, though i picked my weakest classes first. Which was stupid of me, i just wanted them out of the way. Not really thinking the college would ask me for my grades… x.x

I already sent in my Letters of Recommendation, One from my English teacher and one from my Graphic Design teacher.

I started with a 3.5 College GPA, then the three C’s killed me. I just got to try harder next semester.

BTW, I’m a freshmen at a College that the grades do not show up on my transcript until the last day of Finals. Which was 12/12.

I’m not in high school, daviddj. Freshmen in College trying to transfer.
