Chance me- SUNY Binghamton.

I'm currently a senior in HS and a lot of my friends and classmates are hearing back from Bing. I heard that rejections and deferrals come at a different time than acceptance letters... so I'm really worried and questioning my chances for Bing.

I applied to Binghamton's College of Arts and Science (Harpur) and sent in my commonapp around late December. My sister got her undergrad degree in Biology and Chemistry from Harpur (Class of 2005).

Gender: Female
Nationality: Asian-American. Born in China, immigrated when I was 5 but got my American citizenship around 10 years old.
Location: New York City
School: Bronx HS of Science

GPA: 92.98
Overall, most of my course grades are in the 90s with an exception of 88 in sophomore honors alg/trig and 85 in second term AP Bio and honors physics. I also have a 75 for term 2 in junior honors precalc.

Honors Courses (like "Honors Sophomore English" etc.):
- Freshman Geometry, Sophomore Alg/Trig, Junior Precalc
- Sophomore English, Junior English
- 3rd Year Spanish
- Freshman Biology, Sophomore Chemistry, Junior Physics

AP Classes:
- USH & Biology (Junior Year)

Current Courses:
- AP Environmental Science, AP English Literature, AP Micro/Macroeconomics (half a year of each), Calculus, Japanese

I admit- I think I did the best during freshman/sophomore year. From junior year on, my grades were lower than what they were during the first two years of high school, but the courses were more challenging.

In New York State, we have to take "Regents" tests after each major course. All of my Regents scores are over 90, with the exception of an 85 in Chemistry and an 88 in Physics.

SAT:
Crit Reading: 590
Math: 700
Writing: 660

SAT II:
Bio: 760
USH: 740
Math 2: 660

AP scores:
Bio: 5
USH: 5

Extracurricular:
- Volunteered during the summer year for two months at NYDH's human resources department, 5 days a week and about 8 hours a day
- Participated in cultural club activities at school- we put on a show every year to celebrate a cultural holiday. I've been in the club since freshman year and have taken some leadership roles as well.
- "Yearbook journalism workshop"- basically writing articles and taking pictures for Bronx Science's famous yearbook since junior year.
