Chance me TAMU Engineering

Fair - just noting you are running parallel - well I wish you well. You have lots of great schools already.

Never have a dream school. You can have a wonderful experience at many. You will make your life, not your school.

well thereā€™s no active thread for GSU, so might ask it over here, that how is GSU for computer science. Am asking this because i got out of tuition fee waiver (Which makes GSU most affordable among my other acceptances). And am asking this because as an international student my parents are mostly concerned for safety, and to their knowledge Atlanta, GA is not the safe place.

GSU is Georgia State? If so, never heard of it.
Atlanta is a large, suburban city-lovely, wealthy areas, as well as not so great areas. Thatā€™s pretty much every city and town in America. Lots of crime in College Station, TX - home to Texas Ī‘&M. Austin has a horrible homeless population, bordering campus even.
Iā€™d go where I had direct admission to CompSci, and follow any $ thatā€™s been offered. You wonā€™t get in state tuition at UT or A&M.

Nothing wrong with Ga State and frankly where you go for CS will likely have less imapct.

Itā€™s in a great place for jobs. You can get safety info from the school.

Its rep has approved. My company just lost an MBA grad to Blackrock.

If you want a big school with a name, have you looked at Alabama where youā€™d get $10K off. Or other schools merit international.

Thereā€™s also low cost privates - or schools like Ogelthorpe or Hendrix that are LACs may have solid deals for you. Kalamazoo puts their merit ont he net price calculator.

Why did you fixate on A&M? - meaning what about it appeals so strongly.

Well i thought i might get instate tuition from A&M and from the beginning i felt connected to the culture of A&M

Only way to get in state tuition at A&M is to be offered $4,000 in specific scholarships from A&Mā€¦which will be very difficult, if not NMF/NMSF. A&M known for not giving out much merit $.
Or you can purchase a home and after 12 months if youā€™ve established residency, you can the apply for in state. A&M makes it difficult to get in state tuition.
Iā€™d look at Alabama. Better $, great traditions & culture, large school.

I have also applied to UTD.

UTD has an excellent CompSci reputation. Polar opposite school experience from UT and A&M-campus life, culture, no football- but it appeals to many.

Chance of my application at UTD?

I have no idea, sorry.

Note that I moved this posterā€™s chance me to itā€™s own post.
For reference for new posters, itā€™s considered poor form to piggy back on another posterā€™s chance me thread so please start your own.
Thank you!
