Not applying to other UC’s? Personally, I can only give you helpful advice for the UC’s, but i think your stats look golden for UCB. Of course with the other schools there is always uncertainty but you have a good shot.

I applied to UCSB as a “saftey” yes. Dont wanna apply to UCLA cause I want to leave LA. Been here all my life

very very strong application.

Your application is a bit weak given those schools you’ve chosen, good luck

How so? @HarvardBound50

Oh also my research from UCLA got featured at Cal Tech if thats important.

It seems like an okay application… They like to see a trend of something you like to do in most if not every aspect of your EC’s. Excellent at one thing over good at all things. They would peg you as a person who loves theater and meets the point at which the application is started to be looked at for other things. What was the research in? It doesn’t help to have research in say chemistry when you have not expressed that interested in a multitude of EC’s.

While I partially agree with @thecrazy13, I personally think that some emphasis in these areas can differentiate him from some of the STEM-centered applicants. Honestly, I wish I had some form of artistic talent so that I can seem well-rounded. Is that not what colleges want in a student?

But there’s a catch: it can’t take over your STEM major. It can be a hobby, but a student in an engineering school at an Ivy can’t drop out because of a “hunch” that your acting/songwriting career will take you far. It must be your passion, and if it is, I see no reason why you would not get accepted into most of them.
