AP Photography?!

Is the GPA weighted or Unweighted?

and gotta work on those EC’s

step it up

I didn’t know there was an AP photography o-o

Unweighted

Weighted GPA is about 4.74 or something. I never got any B’s in AP classes. I only got a B in a semester class freshman year

You have a pretty good chance. Maybe a couple more SATII’s or improve your SATI by a couple hundred points to be safe.

thanks

but i am not a CA resident

Actually, you look pretty good for admission - just be sure to create a top quality interesting essay.

High degree of rigor in your classes, great depth and commitment to your ECs is worth more than a long list of shallow activities. The drill/dance team commitment and the regional and state level success is another factor in your favor. I think these are all big + factors, certainly stronger than the GPA and SAT otherwise would indicate.

I don’t know what these guys are talking about in regards to your GPA. That is HIGH by any standard.

SAT I is a little low, but other than that, I think you have a great shot.

^ I think they were assuming that was her weighted UC gpa

yes, guilty as charged. All we have are high school weighted and unweighted, neither tells us what the UC GPA will be.

But both of those GPAs, especially considering the fact that the OP has 14 AP and 15 honors courses, will obviously result in a very high UC GPA.

thank you for all your responses.

I am not a CA residents though, so I wonder if I look good as an Out-of-State applicant

Yes, you still look good even as an OOS.

Great stats! You might want to find another extracurricular during the summer to set you apart from the rest.

You look excellent for an OOS applicant. First thing to note is that OOS admissions has gotten much easier ever since the budget issues. They still collect fees from OOS students as usual, but the state’s not paying their portion for the CA students like they used to.

Rigorous courseload, strong GPA, extracurriculars which show clear passion in athletics and well-rounded personality. Your SAT score is a bit low, but the ACT makes up for it.

Good luck!

Still, AP Photography? That doesn’t exist.

^

LoL, it does! I love photography that is why I took it

^^ are we talking about an AP Photography course at your high school, or a College Board AP Exam?

^
I think they are talking about the course. Yes, my school does offer AP Photography, you submit a profolio in April.
