This probably won’t seem that helpful, but I’d say just about the same chance as everyone else. In all honesty, your test scores are weak for Harvard and your G.P.A. leaves something to be desired. Still, you have many advantages. Your awards are unusual and your extracurriculars are very strong and surely left a strong impression on the adcoms. Also, being a URM probably helped (it can’t hurt). You weren’t the strongest applicant they saw but you certainly weren’t the weakest either. So if you want a number I’d say somewhere between 10 and 20%. Don’t be offended if that seems low, the process is just so (seemingly) random that I don’t really know. Good luck, I hope you get in.

I’m very confused - how can weighed GPA be 6.112?

thanks chocho777, and I did have an interview (idk why i put i didnt have one) where I was able to explain how there was an immediate family death, which was why y grades werent the best… so hopefully they understand :)

collegegirl333 I must say that it is very impressive to see all your multilingual capabilities. True, your scores are slightly low for Harvard; however, you certainly seem like an exceptionally well rounded and involved applicant. There’s more to applications than scores. If I were to chance you, I’d say about 30%… yet all of Harvards applicants are exceptional sooo… it’s extremely hard to say.

If your interview was good (and personal), that only strengthens your case. One way or another, best of luck, and just remember that you’ll be equally as amazing even if you don’t get in. (As you can see I’m already prepping myself for rejection).

These “chances” threads never work out. Just for future notice, if anyone happens upon this thread. It’s not as clear cut as you may think. For extremely outgoing students, who have a 2400 on the SAT, 4.0 GPA, basically a perfectionist track record might simply get rejected. Placing arbitrary percentages on your chances would only end up raising your hopes, or vice versa. So don’t fret. Give it your all and put pack your application with personality, attiude, and confidence.
