Volunteer/Community service: Camp counselor for a band camp, volunteered at the library, played the clarinet at nursing homes
Summer Activities: AwesomeMath for three weeks and CTY Program for three weeks
Essays: I thought they were pretty good. I wrote the optional essay about math and tennis.
Teacher Recommendation: I got one from my AP Calc AB teacher, and one from my Latin teacher. I imagine they were good.
Counselor Rec: I imagine it was good.
Additional Rec:
Interview: Good. It was 45 minutes long, and we just talked about my life and my interviewer's life at UChicago.

<p>WiseGuy, you beat me to it! I was going to post the same link.</p>

<p>The essence of the post is that having strangers online evaluate your “chances” doesn’t do you much good. They can only really evaluate the objectives, and there is no way that we know how the admissions officers really think.</p>

<p>Yes, it is impossible to accurately “chance” you because each application is evaluated in the context of thousands of other applicants. There’s no way we can know what that context is.</p>

<p>However, I’m not against chance threads if they’re how YOU deal with the stress. If writing about it helps, please post. Introspection is never wrong. Just don’t expect anyone to chance you because truthfully the odds are NOT in your favor. :D</p>
