Chance me through the now to April waiting : )

Please chance me, I’ve finished all my applications and I’m rather curious of what I can expect for the coming months.

Academics
SAT 1: Math- 660 CR- 720 Writing- 650 Composite- 1380
ACT: Composite- 31 Composite Superscore- 32
SAT II: Math II- 610, Physics- 600, US History- 720, English Literature- 750

AP: Human Geography- 4, Psychology- 5, English Lang- 4, Calculus AB- 2 (I know that is a terrible look), Physics B- 3, U.S. History- 4

Rank: 38/494

Senior Curriculum: AP Biology w/ a lab as a separate honors class, AP English Lit., AP Stats, AP U.S. Gov’t, AP Comparative Gov’t, and Spanish 4 (which I believe is a honors class at my school, not sure)

Awards: National Achievement Semi-Finalist (still waiting for updates), AP Scholar with Distinction, National Honor Society, TASSer in ’07, made it to finalist for TASP

Extracurriculars In School (leadership, awards)(years): Admittedly a weak area :-(
1) Relay for Life (Secretary and Team Captain)(11,12)
2) Asian Club
3) Young Democrats
4) National Honor Society
5) National English Honor Society

Extracurriculars Out of School (leadership, awards)(years):
1) Volunteer at my local children’s hospital (9, 10, 11, 12) While my only out of school extracurricular I have dedicated the most time to it by far. Eg. Whole summers and breaks.

I’m a black, female living in South Florida

Future: I want to study Biology and possibly minor in Anthropology. I wish to attend medical school and then become a pediatrician.

Recommendations: My English and History teachers can, and did, speak highly of me because I was able to develop a solid out of the classroom rapport with them.

Essays: I feel that they expressed my voice and just tried exemplify who I was.

Schools (some of these will no doubt be unknown to some of you but please give it your best effort): FAU, UCF (in Orlando, FL), UMiami, UFlorida, Emory, Spelman, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, UChicago, UMich, and Stanford.

I have already gotten into FAU and UCF because they were in-state safeties. I was deferred by both UMIch and UChicago but hold out hope for UChicago because it is my first choice school.

Thanks for your help!

SATs are pretty low for the ivies (Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Stanford) so those would be reaches. The rest are more or less matches/low reaches

I figured as much for the Ivies but I really wanted to give Cornell a go.
I do really like and feel in balance with UChicago but that school is rather competitive.
I’m just waiting for the March-April shoes to drop.

Is there anyone else, I am really concerned about having been deferred by UChicago.

Anyone, anyone at all?

my final outcry to the CC community at large.

I am the answer to your prayers for a person to answer you hahaha =)

UMich, Spelman, EMory and UFlorida are realiables
UCHicago, Columbia and UMiami are realistics
All of the Ivies are reaches

Chance meh back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/645152-these-colleges-reach-me.html

idk if it was wise of you to send in your SATs…maybe…idk…31 act is pretty good. 32 composite is nice also…and being black helps u a lot. as does ur weighted gpa…gl

amendment: I just got into UM : )

anyone else?
