<p>Your application looks pretty standard. You need some depth. For example, hopefully your volunteer hours are concentrated in one aspect (medicine). And kill your essays (I dont know the topic but why do you want to be a Doctor should be answered with more than the standard “because I want to help people” response).
I’d encourage you to apply ED1/2 when you apply next year.
Or get the GPA up during Spring 2014 and Fall 2014. A strong upward trend would be very helpful.</p>
<p>Doesn’t matter if they are Asian, this is Emory. It’s not painfully selective when you compare it to the other top 20s. It’s maybe as selective as Berkeley, which can be annoying, but is certainly not absolutely impossible and random. Like you don’t need to be near perfect or anything unless you want a scholarship (which even some HYP admits would fail to get).</p>
