Relieve my anxiety plz ):

Here’s my list of schools I’m waiting on: Yale (Deff SCEA), Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Dartmouth, Tufts, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Emory

Academic: 35 ACT (36E, 36M, 33R, 36S) ; 36 Superscore (I got a 35R on my previous examination)
4.44 GPA Weighted on a 5.0 Scale. This means I got 2 Bs freshman year and have gotten As ever since. I have only ever taken honors or AP classes.

By the end of senior year I will have done 9 AP classes. This years course load (senior) is Calc BC, Physics 2, AP Comp gov, AP Psych, Honors Latin, and English electives. I am in the top couple percentage points of our class from the perspective of our school profile sent to colleges.

SAT Subject tests - 790 MATH 2, 760 US History, 740 Physics
AP Tests - 5 Statistics, 5 Lang and Comp, 4 US History, 4 Physics 1

Extra Curricular -

Debate Team (4 years) - Captain, trophied a couple times

Model United Nations (3 years) - President. Trophied a couple times. The club started with only a few active members and I’ve been able to get it to 40 people this year, proud of this.

Boy Scouts (4 years) - Held multiple leadership positions, eagle scout.

LGBT Coordinator (2 years) - Organized youth group meetings in a traditionally conservative religious space for LGBT youth.

HOSA (3 years) - President. Club for people who want to be doctors or go into the medical field. Nationally recognized. Small chapter.

Science Bowl (3 years) - Treasurer, team did quite well despite being new. Also a part of Science national honor society.

Robotics Team (2 years) - Co-founder and Vice President. In addition to robotics team, also have been doing robotics since elementary school. Now mentor younger middle school teams and help judge tournaments.

Internship at a local biomedical lab (2 years) - Worked over the summer for two years in local lab. First year did basic code work and second year worked on a research manuscript for a study that had been finished but was yet to be published. Will be acknowledged in the paper pending publication.

Local Science Fairs and associated science seminars (2 years) - Took a class in bioinformatics and helped teach a science and coding class. Got 1st place and 2nd place for my science fair projects in two years.

Humanities Honor Society (1 Years) - Co-founded this year Hospital Volunteering/Shadowing - not too relevant on an app but thought I’d include it.

Personal - My personal narrative is about a peculiar hobby of mine, and how it has influenced my life. Unique-ish probably

Rec Letters were both from teacher who liked me and knew me well, both said they were good.

Guidance counselor rec letter will likely be good, good relationship and interactions.

I have an additional rec letter from my internship advisor, who is also the CEO of the research group. Pretty good.

I don’t have any hooks, unless being LGBT in the Asian community counts, and don’t have legacies.

Accepted to so far: Northeastern Honors w/ 28k a year, UMichigan LSA, UMass-Amherst Honors w/ 16k a year, UConn Honors w/ 10k a year

Waitlisted to Tulane (Yield protection? idk) and JHU

Deferred to Yale EA

ahhhhhhhhh this process is destroying my will to live

Scores are good…but success has absolutely nothing to do with the college you choose. It’s just a brand name tool you use to achieve a dream. All of these are great schools. I would go with the school that offers the most money. Debt is not your friend.

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are great. With good essays you could get accepted to several of these schools

Wow! You’re the applicant everyone wants to be. Good luck.

Very solid. Outstanding job growing the Model UN to 40 students. That’s definitely a point to highlight as it shows deep interest, leadership and impact. Those are the types of things that help one stand out from a pool of amazing applicants.
