General Information
1st generation Taiwanese-American
Income bracket: 100-140k
California Resident

Academics
I attend a mid-size public school, my public school is quite competitive and sends ~10 to top 10's every year, around 30 to both UC Berkeley and UCLA.
GPA: 3.971/4.000; 4.323/5.000; Rank 15/480 (top 4% - ELC Student)
SAT: 2150 (800M, 650CR, 700W - only submitting to colleges that require it)
ACT: 34 (36M, 34E, 32R, 33S, 10W)
SATII: 800 Math 2, 800 Physics, 740 Bio:M
AP Tests: Biology, Physics B, Statistics, Calc AB, US History: (3/4/5/5/3) (I was sick during May, should I put this on additional info?)
*Our school ranking system is quite flawed - it ranks unweighted GPA, so a person taking all college prep classes can rank higher than me.
Senior year courseload: AP Computer Science, Chinese 4, AP US Gov, English 12, AP Psychology, AP Chem, Honors Economics
By the end of the year, I would have taken 9 AP's.

UCLA
UCSD
Cornell AEM
Princeton
Rice
Duke
Stanford
Columbia

MAJOR: ECONOMICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for reading

I would be surprised if you didn’t get accepted to any of those schools
the only ones I would say you will have trouble in are
Stanford
Princeton
Columbia

I had a friend last year who was better qualified than you (no offense) and got rejected from Stanford

chance me
@
“chance me for UCs”

you have a great shot at all the schools but with the ivys you will never no, but good luck
chance me back:“Chance for Notre Dame”

Good luck, most schools you listed sound like the perfect fit for you. You may have a difficult time getting into Stanford, Princeton, and Columbia, like seby408 said. You have a good chance though.

Your stats are very impressive, as our your E.C.s (you seem to show a lot of dedication to swimming, which is GREAT). Applying to Penn early decision should help, and you definitely have a shot for all the schools. However, all of them are very competitive so I wouldn’t say definitely for any…but a great chance! Best of luck to you!

Penn Wharton ED-low reach, ED should help.
Chicago EA-high match, match if you can write a great essay though.
MIT EA-reach
Berkeley-match
UCLA-match
UCSD-match
Cornell AEM-low reach/reach
Princeton-reach
Rice-match/high match
Duke-high match/low reach
Stanford-reach
Columbia-low reach/reach

Overall, you have a great chance at all of these schools. With the Ivies, Stanford, and MIT though, it’s just too hard to guess what your chances are considering they are reaches for practically everyone. If you’re planning on majoring in economics though, Chicago could work out because they are one of the schools on your list that you have a better chance at and they have arguably the best undergrad economics program in the country.

Please chance back

Thanks for chancing me at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1015952-ch-nc3-m3-ll-chance-y0u-b-ck.html</a> :)

I can’t really imagine that you’d get rejected anywhere, unless they have too many overachieving Asian kids or something. I’d say you’re good though :p

your scores are good.gpa seems good too. i wouldn’t worry too much about the ranking colleges figure that stuff out
i swim at ncs too! thats cool.
your ec’s could be more focused on economics, although deca will help. why aren’t you going into science?
anyway:
MIT EA-reach (although their admission is based a lot on fit. they can be unpredictable)
Berkeley-match (i’d say you’re pretty much in)
UCLA-match (same^)
UCSD-match/in
Cornell AEM-low reach/reach
Princeton-reach (for everyone)
Rice-not sure
Duke- low reach
Stanford-reach (like princeton)
Columbia-lowreach/reach (their econ program is good. applying to seas would be easier)
if you arent opposed to engineering or were considering it you should know that engineering can be an easier major to matriculate to

chance back!

^ nah, i took all 3 sciences, and they don’t appeal to me much at all. Our school is pretty focused on the arts, so that’s kinda ■■■■■■■■. They don’t offer ap micro/macro, but i know econ fits me well.

Wow you are pretty impressive! :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1022227-lets-honest-here-chance-me-ill-chance-you-back.html</a></p>

It’s stats like yours that scare me about what I’m up against, lol. Though seriously, I think you’re pretty qualified to get in anywhere. Everything is, for the most part a match of some kind. You’ll get into at least half the schools listed here.
