<p>Hi I'm currently at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. In high school I had a 3.79. 28 on the ACT. I played varsity hockey for 3 years. I've had a job since I was 15 (3 years at a pizza place, 2 years cutting grass for a company and the two overlapped). I am in the honors college at Oakland University. I'm a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. I'm in the pre-med society at Oakland. I've been a volunteer at Genesys Hospice since the beginning of this year and have about 45 volunteer hours (some of those being vigil care at around 2 a.m.). I finished my freshman year at Oakland with 37 credits and a 3.975 GPA. I'm looking to apply for fall 2012 to U of M and I will have 62 credits I believe. What do you guys think my chances of getting in are? Also, I have a big dilemma. Applications open up August 1st and I know it most likely increases your chances of getting in to apply early. However, if I waited until my first semester was done, I would have 53 credits and would have a lot more volunteer hours and possibly a few more e.c.s. What do you guys recommend doing in that situation for the best chances? Thanks so much.</p>

<p>I’m also trying to transfer into Michigan and I think you definitely have a good shot at getting in. Your GPA is very good and you have enough credits. Your ECs are strong enough as well. And I thought that transfers weren’t allowed to apply early, please correct me if I’m wrong but I looked everywhere and basically I found that only high school seniors could transfer early. Besides, if you apply early the worst thing that can happen is basically you get deferred. And if that happens you will simply be given the opportunity to go with regular decision and send in extra grades and an update. So applying early is by far your best option. Good luck!</p>
