Chance me transfer admission :)

I go to a FL state college, my GPA is 3.67 and my transfer major is chemistry!

The problem is that I got a C in chemistry II and that worries me.

These are a few of my grades:

Chemistry I (extended sequence) A
Chemistry I (extended sequence) B
Chemistry I Lab A

Chemistry II C
Chemistry II Lab A

Calculus I B

I'll take calculus II over the fall

The rest of my grades are pretty good.

I'm thinking of applying for biochemsitry instead because I'm pretty good at Bio (but I like chemistry more)

I'm also Social Media Coordinator of International Club and work part time as a cashier. I already have 65 credits...

thanks!

There are the transfer requirements listed on the Florida Virtual Campus website for that program at UF.

I see that the main CLAS website says you only need the basics you’ve taken before applying, so you might be able to get in. There will be competition out there that may have completed all the other recommended courses already, such as Organic Chemistry or Physics.

If you really want in, it’s only a $30 application fee. Write good admissions essays, and sell yourself. Do your best in the last semester at your college. You have a chance, but the competition will be tough, I think.

I don’t know about that C in Chemistry 2. That can either light a fire under your butt to get focused on chemistry over the summer and catch up, or it can be an indication that you might struggle with Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. I don’t think chemistry gets any easier the farther you go into it.

If you’re really passionate about it, don’t let the C get you down. Spend your free time reading and re-reading your text, practice questions out of the chapters, and do whatever it takes to ace the subject from here on out.

For Liberal Arts and Science - it is best to go to their transfer admission page. They list of of their majors with prerequisites and GPA.
