Hello everyone. I don’t know if anyone has any insights on transfers, but I welcome any advice on how my stats are and if I have a chance on getting in. I would really appreciate it
Ok so HS Stats:
GPA: 3.0 (I had a lot of personal things going on and my school didn’t weigh or calculate GPA)
ACT: 31
SAT: didn’t take
EC’s: Class representative for 4 years in Student Government, Admissions Assistant and school head tour guide (I went to a boarding school lol), March For Our Lives and ACLU volunteer (I sent messages about legislation to my designated zones), Head Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Varsity Swim for 4 years (was Captain my senior year), NSLC (learned the basics of trial law at Georgetown and argued cases at the DC district courts in mock trial fashion).
College stats:
Freshman applying as a sophomore for Fall 2020
GPA: 3.8 out of 4.0 (All A’s but one A-)
Major: Political Science (I wrote in one of my essays that I’d want to also pursue Economics at Barnard)
Credits by the time the semester is over: 34
EC’s: Senator in Student Government, Board member on the Student Affairs Committee, writer for my school’s newspaper, co-host of a politics related podcast at my school, College Dems leader, Voter Registration Booth organizer, Head Swim Instructor, I also created the French Discussion Table at my school where we discuss topics in French and delve into French Culture.
My letters of recommendation are from two of my favorite professors who both know me very well (one of them graduated from another seven sisters college idk if this helps)
Hooks: First Gen American, Biracial, Legacy (my aunt graduated from Barnard)
I apologize for this being so long. I again would appreciate anyone’s replies. I’m a bit insecure about applying to Barnard again, seeing as I was rejected ED last year, but I’m hoping the admissions committee will see some improvement and hopefully welcome me in the fall. Thank you so much
