chance me- tufts,brown,vandy,emory,duke

just thought I would try this, seems a little odd but okay.

numbers-
gpa:
weighted: 98.3/100
unweighted: 94.3/100
not counting senior grades, all As plus 3 advanced classed (only didn't take one that was offered for my schedule)

ACT: 33, but 36 for english and reading and i want to study sociology so higher scores in those areas might help hopefully
rank: 3/66
APs: bio 5, apush 5, english lang 4
I have taken all advanced in everything every year except im taking regular physics this year

ECs-
president of community service club senior year, project leader junior year, secretary (11) and treasurer (10) of school spirit club (9-12), nhs (10-12, only years available), school discipline council (11-12), writing tutor (12), volunteer at local museum (8-12), volunteer at Breakthrough (educational enrichment for students from inner-city schools) (10-12), volunteer trip (11), summer study at Emory (12), AP scholar award, over 100 hors of community service (10), over 175 hours of community service (11)

my essays are good I guess but probably average for someoen with the same grades/scores as me. I am white and from the south (Texas- does that count?) so I guess geographic diversity may help a tad.

Your EC’s are basically community service clubs and community service. While a noble pursuit, I am not sure how they will compare to the well-rounded EC’s typical of those that receive positve admission outcomes at these schools.

I would rate your chances:

Brown - Low Reach/Reach
Duke - Low Reach
Vanderbilt - High Match/Low Reach
Tufts - High Match/Low Reach
Emory - Match/High Match

why did you highlight tufts and brown? could you for some reason tell those are my favs? ps i alrady got into washu, uva, usc, and today i found out waitlited at vandy woo?!

^I did not highlight anything. If you were using the search function for “brown” and “tufts” then these terms would have been highlighted in your search results.
