Chance me: Tulane

SAT: overall-1880
Reading-720
Math-550
Writing-610
I know that this is most likely not a good enough score to get in, which is why I've been studying in order to bring my math up to a 650. What do you think about my (possibly) new and current scores?
ACT: 28
Reading-30
Writing- 34
Math-23
Science-25
I don't plan on submitting this score because I was really sick whenever I took it, so I don't think I performed as well as I could have.
Rank: I attend a non-ranking school, so all I know is that I'm in the top 25% out of 99 (my school is extremely competitive)
Classes: I took all 3 Pre-AP available freshmen year, all 3 again sophomore year, doubled up on science and took 5 AP/pre-AP junior year, and plan to take 4 AP next year..
E.C.: I've been involved in A LOT of clubs and hold leadership positions
Volunteering: I get service hours for school during the years and do other events, and now that I have a car I volunteer at the Humane Society
Work: I have had a job since the end of my sophomore year and I have really good credit card sales there
Extra: I will be starting an internship during the school year next year as well. Also, I hope my essays will help because I tend to write them very well.
GPA: 4.26 unweighted and 3.78 weighted (as of my first semester of my junior year)
Thanks for your time!

P.S. I also plan to send in a personal statement explaining why my GPA is a little low (I had some serious issues at home that I had to overcome while I've been in high school)

Everything looks decent for the most part, but you definitely need to work on increasing those SAT scores to around 2000, since thats closer to Tulane’s average

@ambid77 Thanks! Do you know if you can send in scores after you apply?

Indeed you can! However, you need to make sure that they receive the scores before the application deadline.
I read that it can take up to 5 weeks for a college to get your scores (not sure how true this is), but just to be safe, I’d say send them in as early as you have them to make sure your college gets them before the deadline.
Also, most colleges have a section of their website stating when is the latest they recommend you taking the SAT, so I’d check that out if I were you :)

i think your stats are fine for tulane

“GPA: 4.26 unweighted and 3.78 weighted” wut

Haha probably a typo^

@Alden97 Yeah sorry that was a typo!

to clarify is it 3.26 uw and 3.78 w, or 4.26 w and 3.78 uw

@alden97 4.26 w and 3.78 uw

I think Tulane is a high match. If you do retake the SAT, try for a 1950+. If you study, you can likely reach 2000. Then I’d say match. Good luck! Chance me back? :)
