Chance me: U Mich, UT Austin, UW Madison

HS junior, applying for class of 2024
OOS at each
3.5 GPA
36 ACT
EC’s are all service-related
Strong reco’s
Undecided, but thinking history/liberal arts

What do you think?

With your ACT score, you’re golden. However, that GPA will probably drag you down. Luckily your major isn’t super competitive like CS / Engineering. I think you’ll get into all of them as long as ECs are good.

All very hard to get into OOS. What instate options do you have? Try to get great grades the rest of this year and senior year. They will look at midterm grades. Have safeties you are happy with and matches as well. Michigan GPA for LSA is 3.83. The 36 will help.

@GoBears2023 and @Knowsstuff – Aiming high to raise my GPA with the time left. My in-state is Illinois which is on my list too, just further down. Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated!

UT-A is especially hard for OOS- your ACT is great, but GPA makes it a reach.

Also, have you done the budget test?

I am from Chicago. So UIUC is a given for you then with merit because of the 36 most likely. Northwestern could be interesting because you are instate. Reach but interesting.
