Your GPA is low for UM, and if you are out of state, I’d say you are a reach, depending on program. Not as much of a reach for LSA, absolute reach for Engineering or Ross.

I agree with Decorative22. Your ACT is fine for UMich, somewhere hovering between the 25th and 50th percentile for UChicago (I have the same score as you  ), and is decent for NYU. Obviously the whole GPA thing is an upward battle for you, so I suggest working on your essays and possibly having your counselor explain your C.
Message me if you have any questions (UMich LSA Class of 2018 admit).

Your GPA is a bit low for UMich which put high weight on it for admission. Considering your course rigorous, it may be fine. However, that may only bring you back to admission average. With both ACT and GPA around average, it would be a very high match (near low reach) for oos, or match for in state, if apply LSA. It would be a low reach for CoE. What is your intended major?

I live in Michigan

I wanted to go in to medicine

So that would mean I would be going to LSA correct? (Haven’t decided on major, but I’m sure I want to do a science)

I’d say matches for U of M and NYU low reach for Chicago

Reach for Chicago and high matches for the other 2.

GPA and ACT are both too low for U of C. They are, however, in range of NYU and U of M, especially since you’re in state. I’d say high reach for University of Chicago and match/high match for NYU and U of Mich

I think you’re a high reach for UChicago but a low-mid match for U of M and NYU. What are your extracuricculars?

You know medicine is after college. For pre-med, you should apply to LSA considering your scores and GPA. You should be a match for in state. Try to bring up your GPA. So you are in Junior? How come you have grades from both semester already?
